 Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer of Avery Dennison, joined the Company in 1984 and served in increasingly responsible positions in the label and tag converting business (formerly known as Soabar) and in Fasson Roll Division U.S. In 1990, he was promoted to vice president and general manager, Fasson Roll U.S. and was named General Manager of the Year in 1992. In 1995, he moved to the Netherlands and managed the Fasson Roll Europe operation. Mr. Scarborough returned to the U.S. in 1997, when he was appointed group vice president, Fasson Roll North America and Europe. He was promoted to group vice president, Fasson Roll Worldwide in 1999. He became president and chief operating officer on May 1, 2000.
